Ambassador for the Affairs of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Liu Yuxi Visits Madagascar

On May 29, 2026, Ambassador for the Affairs of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Liu Yuxi met with Foreign Minister Alice N’DIAYE during his visit to Madagascar, and they exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern.

Liu Yuxi said that China and Madagascar have a long-standing friendship and are comprehensive strategic partners. China will continue to support Madagascar in independently exploring a modernization path suited to its national conditions. China is ready to closely align development strategies with Madagascar, jointly implement the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit, and keep pushing bilateral relations to new heights.

Alice N’DIAYE said that China is a sincere and reliable friend and partner of Madagascar. The Malagasy transitional government attaches great importance to relations with China, and upholds the one-China principle. It looks forward to strengthening political exchanges with China, deepening practical cooperation within the FOCAC framework, and making good use of zero-tariff policies to promote Madagascar’s national development and people’s well-being.

During his visit, Liu Yuxi attended a briefing session on zero-tariff policies.
